(Spoilers) I feel sorry for Steve

At the end, he's trying to avenge his father, a man Bishop also cared about (although he shot him). Bishop wouldn't think twice about killing Steve if Steve had been responsible for the old man's death. Instead, father and son are both killed, and by the same guy...after everything he'd been through with BOTH of them.

Entertaining movie, but I'm not sure justice was done in the end.

I agree. I don't mind that Bishop lived, but there was no reason to kill Steve. He could've easily gone somewhere else and started a new life, Steve would've never known.

Bishop deserved to die
Steven was pretty insane, so I didn't really mind him dying

though the last scene ruined the film for me, when we see that Bishop survived

on a sidenote, Bishop was supposed to be some genius, but he bought all that BS about Sutherland
then he went on the computer to verify things? (so he didn't really believe it)
but in the end he shoots him anyway

bad script imo, or they should have made Bishop just a simple minded tool.

p.s. this forum lacks clear seperation of ones signature

Dudi- I thought it worked out FINE. Bishop gave the son a chance! He didn't have to but did. Taught him the ways of the hitman etc. gave him his own mission (although "used") fits perfectly. Bishop decided that he was not going to make the same mistake (Sutherland) made. He was going to watch out for betrayal. Steve had the braun but not the brains, man, get it?!

Bishop respected the Father. He was not only his mentor but taught him a hitman's code of ethics. Bishop had no qualms about the Father because he felt betrayed that the Father had broken that code.

The son meant nothing to Bishop other than being an extension of the Father. He felt an obligation to mentor him as his Father had mentored Bishop.

But the kid was basically a loser. He was a hot head out for revenge, inept and clumsy, and an all around loser throwing himself a pity party. There was really no connection between the two. Not like Bishop and his Father.

This film isn't about justice.
