Why did statham shoot the guy in the wheel chair (sutherland)
Please can some one tell me. I watched the film once and I wont get the chance to watch again for a while thanks.

He was paid to do it. It was his contract.
shareI have to agree that it's kind of muddled about why he kills his friend. JS kills Donald Sutherland, but then works his son to find the people who did it? I'm guessing JS's character misled him to help him get revenge on the guys who did him wrong during the other job.

I thought he "had" to kill wheel chair guy because he gave some secrets and sabotaged something in cape town? All statham had to do was ask if this is correct and then we could have this film where statham still kills his boss but to save wheel chair guy..

this was by far the dumbest part of the movie which made the whole thing suffer. Bishop is a smart guy and would have smelled the BS from this mission. Obviously he was not afraid of this employer as he was able to take them all out in the end with a plan that wasnt even all that brilliant. The fact he kills his friend without getting his friend's side of the story made no sense at all.
