Orange sandwich

Some official mentions examining an orange sandwich....are these popular in Scotland? (I'm from Seattle) like marmalade?

It was marmalade. He shares one with Malky/Boyd earlier. The officials examined it and said it was just orange & sugar, which are the ingredients of marmalade (and pectin?).
N.B. I saw a sports program's interview/focus/piece on him at his peak and he showed the interviewer his "high tech diet" (or words to that effect - cynical sarcasm) and it was actually a (strawberry?) jam sandwich. Saying something about the bread being slow release carbs and the jam being instant sugar energy - seemingly mocking people who placed too much faith in sports nutrition.
The piece was mainly about his training practice - saying he didn't train if he didn't feel like it - as though that was the best way to train for everyone.
That method is obviously not professional - when you're training hard for long periods, as pros need to, you'd never feel like training, as you're always carrying aches and pains. I guess, for him, it was more about being bipolar or lacking motivation.
