What's up, dude?

I think it's kinda weird that he would use the exact phrase, "What's up, dude?" he heard while spying on Amy on the phone. Especially after she gave Mike crap for it. Too coincidental...

What's even more weird is that during that scene, Doug is obviously entering the cafe as she's leaving. After she rejects him he walks to his car without his coffee.

Amy's character is so naive, ugh! OR is it bad script writing?

I think her character was just naive. I don't think she was paying too much attention to really notice, though. It was probably just a way for the director to show us how steeped in creepiness Doug really was.

I thought this was pretty off too, but then it could just be passed off as he only showed up to ask if she wanted to go to the concert, seeing as that's the only place she really goes. In another light, him not getting coffee could be interpreted as his ego being hurt or whatevs. I know where you're coming from though.

I thought it was stupid that the dude would call a chick a dude.

These are some movies of mine. Enjoy!

He heard her "BF" call her that on the phone the night before...then decided to repeat it as a bit of passive aggressiveness ... Was not coincidental at all.

He must have thought she liked being called dude as he heard Mike called her that earlier.

and there are naive girls out there, it's not uncommon to see a girl like that.
