This is the stupidest Batman movie ever!

I think the only people who could have rated this movie highly are people who dont read comics or those who actually thought Joel Schumacher's nipplesuit oriented Batman and Robin was great. This movie is probably targeting toddlers and people high on coke who can go 'Mannnn, this is cool, it makes my head spin. Look mommy, I'm an idiot. Gagagagagaghgaga'.

I think that you are trying to tell the original poster that "stupidest" is not a word, but that is not the case according to the web site "dictionary.com". It is listed there and is perfectly acceptable.

reply

It was a good movie, The Batman the series sucks compared to Batman the Animated series but I'll watch it. The Lost Ones are awesome. So creepy. And BLOOD. The fight with Batman and vampire joker was so awesome. with the blood rain.

reply

[deleted]

this movie was pretty damn cool. dont know what youre complaining about. i have been reading the bats comics for years and while i admit the series has a few differences from the comics, its still cool. get your head out of your ass and enjoy a good story. stop trying to make it something it was never meant to be.

reply

Well obviously you dont know very much about Batman to think that that crap series is cool. There are no good stories with this new crappy The Batman.

Exactly, and it was never meant to be BATMAN.

Exactly, you're obviously so young that anything with BLOOD will attract you.

"So creepy, And BLOOD The fight with batman and vampire joker was so awesome with the blood rain"

As i said before, Exactly. Imbecile.

reply

Well the fact that "blood' is in the movie is surprising! And having the Joker lick it! Except the belch, that kinda ruined the moment.....

And remember in american media children "don't" know about death or at least aren't supposed to know! ussually they "villains" just say "I'll destroy you!"

Touche! But I want some American cartoons to be on par with the Japanese Anime!
By that I mean story, tone and animation wise, not just copy the Japanese style!

Also I wanted The Batman to be on par or even better than BTAS, but if you watch the shows side by side, THE Batman one too damn kiddy. While the original could be enjoyed by both kids and adults! Some episode of THE Batman are good, and this movie is pretty good, some parts are iffy but it's great!

First of all the tV series isn't for toddlers,it is for Tweens (7-14 year olds). This movie is barely appropriate for half of that audience. It is 1000 times better than Joel Shumacher's batman. While the series is not like Bruce timm's batman the animated series (which had a larger audience) this series is good enough for its target audience.

reply

People like this film because it has blood. So what? that doesnt make it good. Batman doesnt fight corny stuff like Dracula, Spiderman does. The people who like this film and like the series cannot be considered batman fans.

reply

No, you don't understand. I didn't like the movie because of the blood, its because it has more graphic stuff because it was a DTV release and not on tv, thereore is intended for an older audience. It was creepy and had good ambience. You are an imbecile.

reply

So was Mask Of The Phantasm. A REAL Batman movie! It may be more 'mature' than the show itself, but it's still the bastardization that we know and hate.

YOU are the imbecile.

reply

Nope, that movie is the real batman. There were actual deaths and the writers were able to expand. We'll be at this for a while.

You're the Imbecile.

reply

You mean THIS movie is the real batman or Phantasm is?

You're the imbecile, you'd have to know very little about Batman to enjoy this show or this film.

reply

Mask of the Phantasm, because you just said it in the post before mine. You couldn't tell because you're an imbecile.

reply

HEY i love Batman but don't be dissing Spider-Man like that or were going to have some problems

never said it was but it is one of the best comic adapted shows ever

reply

Actually, Batman fights "corny stuff like Dracula" all the time. He actually fought Dracula in Batman/Dracula: Red Rain (an Elseworlds title, but still), Solomon Grundy is a zombie, and as stated elsewhere, The Mad Monk (appearing in Detective Comics #31) was a vampire. He's also had to face an Alien Batman, Batzarro, the Mortician (who makes zombies), Snowman (the son of a yeti), and the Werewolf (Anthony Lupus).

And if we're on the subject of corny, let's talk about other foes he's had to face, such as Orca (a humanoid orca), the Ten-Eyed Man (has eyes on his fingers), Man-Bat, and Clayface, to name a few.

For someone with arguably comics' greatest rogues' gallery, there are plenty of misses to go with the hits.

reply

I can't comment on the quality of this film as I haven't seen it, but I can point out to you that Batman has actually fought Dracula in the comics. Batman & Dracula: Red Rain, Bloodstorm and Crimson Mist are three Elseworlds graphic novels involving Batman fighting Dracula and other vampires.

reply

You do know Batman has thought Dracula in the comics and in the original animated series there was a villain who was called The Condiment King.
The series when not comparing it with the original, which is what everyone does, is pretty decent and in style a lot of the time it is similar to the original albeit re-imagining of characters. And what's wrong with that? And by the blood he simply meant the insanity of the joker emphasised by the rain of blood and how surprising it is that it made it into a kid's film. The music stings are a great touch here and there and often get overlooked.

reply

Oh, please! How is Dracula, one of the most influential literary characters of all time, "corny stuff"?

I was just surprised with the violent leaps it took. I watched The Batman series, and, I have to say, I miss BTAS. (Maybe it's because I grew up on it, I don't know) But this movie was better than the entire The Batman series. I remember thinking 'Wow, they killed someone in a non-anime children's show? Ballsy.'. Then I actually watched the rest of the movie and realized that no one actually died, which was kind of a let down, but still.

I was really annoyed with the addition of Vicki Vale. She didn't really add anything to the story, and they could've just used some girl instead of her to bring back Mrs. Dracula. But oh well, at least she was voiced by Tara Strong.

I like him. He says okey dokey.

reply

This movie was really not that bad? I don't see what the problem is. I think Batman and Dracula do go well together, cuz after all some vampires turn into bats or wolves. So the genre goes great. In the last post, I know spider-man has Blade and spidey has a vampire as one of his villains too, but thats a whole another story. I think Dracula and Gotham city goes well side by side, cuz its dark, and I would have liked to see this as a live action movie. When I saw this movie, it reminded me of the Tim Burton first 2 Batman films. It had the atmosphere and the dark tone for it. This movie was better then the other cartoon shows, even thou the blood made it for a more of a mature audiance. I just wish they would have made the story more complex, like have Batman fly to Translyvania for the vampire problem or even have werewolves get involved. Even thou this movie was rough at times, the story stil was good... sj

reply

yeh your right, for me personally the script seemed to of been rushed but animation was good and you felt a dark quick pace atmosphere to the film which was nice. The voice acting i thought was up to scratch and the music add'd to the whole this is batman, gotham city and dracula experience.
Either way if your a big fan of batman, not all of you will be pleased and i dont think that will ever happen, but go in2 it with an open mind and relise not everyone read the comics, so they've toned down certain aspects to make it more digestable for the average joe, you do that and you got yourself a decent evening.

Wow, I never thought I'd see the day. Hey, I liked this movie, but that's not why I'm posting. I'm posting because SOME of you are morons. "B:TAS is better!" "No, you're an idiot! The Batman is better!" SHUT UP ALL OF YOU!!!!!! Being a Batman fan is not about which version is better!! AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER ALL THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF BATMAN WERE THE "REAL BATMAN"!!! Dang it, when you're a fan of something that means you like it, for good or bad, and just because someone likes a version that you don't doesn't make them a fool. It just means their tastes are different than yours. Look at me, I am a fan of the '60s Batman TV show, mainly because I grew up on it, it's what hooked me on Batman! But I also like the other Batman movies (Burton and otherwise), especially Batman Begins. If The Batman brings in a whole new generation of Bat-fans then it gets my blessing, and it should get yours too. Being a fan means you embrace the larger view of the character and not sticking dogmatically to one aspect, Batman is Batman.

Well said clbowman-1. People need to be thankful that they have such an eclectic variety to watching so many visions of The Batman. He is a deep and dark character and has provided hours upon hours of entertainment. Whether your 5 or 65 years old, the batman is is just plain fun to watch and i've enjoyed all the nuances that the artists and writers who care for this character have shown through the years.

Respect The Batman.

reply

I watched this for the first time last night and I didn't think it was too bad. Not as good as the earlier animated Batman movies, but I enjoyed it.

reply

How to start picking your post apart is a bit of a problem. I could start by saying that the dark style of this movie has nothing in common with the campiness of Batman and Robin. I could mention that the comics are dark (as is this) and that Batman's first villain was part vampire. I could even say that this was arguably more violent and than any other animated feature, even moreso than Return of the Joker, which would not sell well to toddlers. I think I'll attack your coke argument first. I've heard people say that movies such as Blade Runner and Memento (classics) are enhanced by coke, so there goes that argument. Wow, I'm done already. You don't have to like this movie by any means. I do, in spite of the bad tv show it derives from and occasional corny dialogue, because it's very dark and unafraid of the fact. But next time, offer more compelling or relevant reasons for disliking it.

I consider myself a TRUE Batman fan (whatever that means) I read Batman graphic novels, I've seen the 60s version of Batman (my first experience with Batman) I've seen all Batman movies animated or otherwise. And I did like many grow up watching BTAS. But this movie was a fun movie. I liked the animation, I like how the people who made this didn't try to copy BTAS. The inclusion of Vicky was good also because it showed that Bruce really wanted to spend time with her and have a life but his calling and promise to his parents made that impossible for Bruce to every have a normal life. The only thing I can fault it for is the guy who does the voice of Alfred. I just didn't like it.I think I'm going to check this series out more. But if you don't like the movie or tv show you don't have to watch it. I never understand why poster on IMDB never seem to understand this.I hope this brings a whole new generation of Bat-fans into the fold.

reply

Okay, so 'The Batman' isn't The Animated series, its a new era of Batman in an animated form, we've heard this so many times!

As a fan of BTAS and The Batman (yes you can be a fan of both!) I really enjoyed this movie because it really was a lot more darker and mature than the series which was cool

reply

Guys, The Batman and BTAS are two different shows, stop comparing them. It's true that The Batman doesn't live up to BTAS but seriously who cares? And seriously, would you rather our kids grew up on a mediocre Batman cartoon, or on some crap like Hannah Montana or whatever my 10 year old sister watches.

reply

Well the movie is def not oscar material but I thought it was a fun movie. I mean the story was below par but the fight scenes were cool and the vocies were pretty sweet. But i dont know why people are getting so angry with people who like the movie.

reply

It seems B: TAS fanboys will NEVER EVER warm up to anything NON-Bruce Timm with a "Batman" label on it, I say SCREW THEM!

It was storming here in Florida yesterday evening & we wanted to watch something "spooky" (can't put Texas Chainsaw with a 7 & 3 year old), so I puppoed this one in again. This movie probably has the BEST animation in any DC Universe toon movie...I mean it. It looks so awesome on DVD. The dark tone is perfectly captured in this flick.

And I'm a 33-year old Bat fan...I dig Timm's Animated series, but never liked HIS Batman's square-jawed, short caped, Dick Tracy look. The scene where Bruce has a nightmare & sees "Batman" standing in the moonlight gave me the jitters...it was just an AWEESOME scene.

On a side note, I just saw Justice League: New Frontier this past Friday....BOOOOORING!

This is one of the few DC movies I can watch over & over again (along with Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker & Mask of Phantasm).

This series is just not up to par with Batman: The Animated Series. This movies was ok but but not great. The Penguin is much more stupid (and his hair should be black...NOT red.) and i do not like the new look of the joker....he just doesn't look right.
