cillian murphy is in this? you've go to be kidding me?

please tell me this director is going for something new....i can't imagine seeing cillian murphy in a movie directed by the guy who did club dread?
this sounds like a recipe for disaster.
please prove me wrong, i beg you to.

Why don't you wait for the finished product before offering a comment? Hey, the dude is a young actor and this could possibly the chance to show his versatility as far as diverse roles are concerned.

reply

Sorry, there should be a "be" between "possibly" and "the" for all you grammar queens out there.

reply

LOL :)

i agree with you. Miss Suki (<3 the name ;)

and yes,walktheplank13 you should give Cillian brake, this as far as i can tell sounds to be grate, and i for one cant watie to see this, and im very happy that he gott his role, its looks to be a big summer movie, i can watie to see Cillian in this! :)

reply

Fortunately, you're dead wrong. The script is really good and Cillian is slap-bang awesome in his role. Stop by the set sometime and see them work together.

reply

where have u seen the script?

reply

the script? You've seen it? where? or are you just assuming? And Cillian is always "slap-bang awesome" in all of his roles.

I've actually had the wonderful opportunity to be on the set and actually got a chance to be in it as well =P. It's a cute romantic comedy, and it looks pretty fun. Cillian would have turned it down if he thought it was stupid...He's apparently very picky about the roles he does.

reply

Romantic comedy? I understand it's a film noir comedy, not a romantic comedy, and that of course makes the difference as to whether I'll see it or not. It's good enough for the Tribeca Film Festial, so it might be good enough for me, and Cilliam Murphy being in it is a plus.

I killed him for money and for a woman. I didn't get the money... and I didn't get the woman.

most actors don't do more than 2 movies a year cause a movie takes like 4, 5 months to film i thought... not positive.

reply

what a closed off pathetic little box u live in, newsflash: actors can play more than one genre jackass, and directors can direct more than one genre.

get off your *beep* horse you pretentious twat

reply

Agreed. Especially an actor as talented as Cillian Murphy. I'm betting his performance will be great (as usual) and I'll reserve judgement for the actual film until it comes out. I'm honestly curious and somewhat looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

reply

Personally I think this film will be fab - I'm a fan of Cillian Murphy, Lucy Liu - and the film noir in general. I think the story sounds sweet!

So I think this will be a fun flick!

Hey, Club Dread was a funny movie!

reply

I think this movie looks interesting. Hopefully it will mirror classic film noirs from the 1940s and plus I love Cillian Murphy.

reply

PAul didnt direct super troopers or any of them, jay c did. and just because somebody usually does a certain type of movie, in no way means that they cant broaden there horizans

reply

Dcraven, thank you! The original poster was dead wrong. This is Paul Soter's first time directing, so he clearly has no idea what he's talking about. I guess that only thing that he could be saying really is that Murphy has no business acting in a movie by a first time director, and thats so stupid dont even get em started...

reply

Cillian has never been in a bad film..so i trust his judgement..and i look forward to seeing him in a different type of role. Besides, lucy liu said he runs around half the movie naked; so if its the worst film in the world, i will still be happy!

reply

Uh, Red Eye was pretty lame. But it doesn't matter, he can give even a bad film a bit of a spark.

reply

Sometimes I think I'm the only person in the world who liked Red Eye. D:

reply

no i loved red eye

reply

me too.

it seems like he chooses "roles," not necessarily "films." like he's drawn to complex characters over complex scripts (just judging by his CV). although red eye was far from brilliant, murphy's multi-layered performance was definitely intriguing.

reply

Actually, it sounds pretty intriguing to me. Some of the best movies I have ever seen were ones that were directed by, written by, or starred in by the people you'd least expect to make the movie a success. When I first heard about Napoleon Dynamite, it sounded like the dumbest movie. After viewing the trailer I was certain that it would be do terrible in the box office. Who would have guessed it was going to do what it did?

reply

I did

reply

ummmm....i would appreciate it if you didn't talk bad about Cillian Murphy! He is one of the best actors and has been in alot of good movies and every one i have seen is excellent! So don't put anything bad about him anymore!I love cillian murphy!

reply

I agree. Cillian is great, realy great. I love sunshine to death!
Red eye fell apart towards the end as Rachel MacAdams's character got her own way too much, that would not have happened tbh. I enjoyed it for the most part though.

reply

people can say what they want about him.
