kate winslet's character "clementine" in eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
she's trying to play the "quirky" role but it's not as believable or endearing as kate winslet's.

Actually, she strikes me as a very funny and spot-on update of Katharine Hepburn's character Susan Vance in Bringing Up Baby. Two more cents' worth here....
shareI'd say this movie is a lot less serious than Eternal Sunshine was, and as a guy who really likes both movies, I don't think there's much you can really compare between the two.
But you'll just have to see for yourself, I suppose. =)

Actually, she somewhat reminds me of Charlize Theron in Sweet November - except that Lucy Liu can't really act cute. It's like at every line you get the impression that she is trying too hard. She sorta ruined the movie for me.

shareThis is the third film I've seen Lucy Liu in and I can't stand her. I hated her character the most in the Kill Bill films. I really don't think she's a very good actress.
shareI think what it is is that she tries too hard. In this movie I just felt she was trying to hard to act like she was a young carefree woman. She overacted which made the character sort of hard to watch.
And they had her wearing those really low tops because she was suppose to be young and cute, which just made her look silly.
ACTUALLY Lucy Liu is totally goddamn cute in this movie. I loves it. Half the fun of the movie is watching her and thinking "Holy crap, it's a shame girls like this don't exist."

I blame that lawyer show she did with the stick insect, the name of both of which, escape me - wait - Ally McBeal & Calista flockherat for completely type casting her as a cold hearted bit*h.
I love both movies but I never thought once about Lucy's character as Clem.
