Does anyone know why the clothes all look like the 1990's and the haircuts look like the 1980's? When was it supposed to take place? On the other hand,there are contemporary touches like a little girl riding a bicycle wearing a helmet, which wasn't common sight ten or twenty years ago. I couldn't place the time period.

I wondered about that too, but figured it was supposed to be contemporary. I attributed the somewhat out-of-date clothes and hair to the rural setting.

sharesmall town America baby... I used to live in a small town and after moving out, I literally had to buy all new clothes because mine looked so dated. Progress is much slower in small towns, so the clothes and hair are much less modern
