Penelope's age?
How old is she supposed to be? I think they may have mentioned it, but I tuned in late.

I thought the mother was a bitch when she kept trying to hide her daughter away. Penelope had to be comfortable with herself and her mom and that dating agency were in the damn way. lmfao, I had a heated argument with the computer screen when I was watching Penelope online.
Exactly, if she was 25 then why the hell did the police take the case to find her? Her mom filed a missing person's case, but the police knew by the hotel scene that her family was just trying to track her down. They shouldn't even have bothered since Penelope is NOT a minor and can go where she pleases as she sees fit. I always thought that was weird.

When were the police trying to find Penelope? Her mother didn't file a missing person report with the police. She took the phone away from her husband when he tried to. They hired a private investigator to find her after the sketch appeared in the newspaper. The police were never involved.
sharethat would also be why the mother went to her purse to pay the investigator. you wouldn't exactly pay the police up front for their services...

There is no indication that KRULL (Lenny Henry) is a police detective; he had no power of search warrant. He was just the first of the group to spot Penelope accellerating up the hotel steps to her room. He didn't go into her room; if he was smart (I'm prejudiced, I liked his Gareth Blackstock) he was trying to get around to the fire escape from Penelope's room around the outside of the hotel.
He's a Private Investigator working on a private missing persons case; no badge, no warrants. He probably has a business card and may be registered with the Police Departments he deals with regularly.
By the way, they tracked Penelope by recent activity on Jessica's credit card - which Penelpoe had taken when she ran away. While her family was unlikely to press charges, the theft of or unauthorized use of a credit card is a crime-in-fact.
When Edward tried caling in to report his missing daughter, he was probably calling the police, but Jessica broke the connection.

Trust me, I just watched it.
It's been a while since I saw the movie but at the end Penelope is giving an overview of what happened and she says something like 'So after 25 years the curse was finally broken"...therefore, she must be 25.

Because she said that her mom hired the dating agency lady when Penelope turned 18, and later she said that every guy has been running from her for 7 years, so 18 + 7 = 25 so she has to be 25 years old

They said they started looking for a suitor when she was 18, then later Penelope said she had been waiting 7 years, therefore she is indeed 25.
shareI couldn't be sure but Penelope(or someone else) had mentioned something like"it's been 7 years since they've been looking for a guy to love Penelope" and assuming they've been looking since she was 18, then she must've been 25 by the end of the movie...

She says herself that they hired the dating services woman to find a suitable match for her when she was 18, then went on to say she was tired of it after seven years. That's 25. However, I believe some time has passed between that point and the end of the movie, seeing as she can't possibly be a teacher so quickly. I'm guessing she's anywhere ranging from 26 to 30 years old by the end.

When she was eighteen, they hired Wanda as their matchmaker for Penelope, who complains about how hard it was to watch guys run away from her (idiots!) for 7 years. You can trust me, I'm an observer of detail with a spooky memory - but go watch it for yourself. Jake is there about that long, too, he's the NEW butler that Momma also had to protect baby Penelope from. Penelope IS 25 in the Movie.
I also - literally - just watched it and came looking for a listing for Clara, the abandoned, very pregnant maid whose suicide death begets the "Curse!"
