Is this movie about Serial Killer Robert Pickton?

Is this movie about Serial Killer Robert Pickton from Vancouver, B.C.? Seems every other movie this director has done is about serial killers... obsessive? well thank god! heh

reply

Yes, this is about Robert Pickton. No, it won't be any good. Yes, he has done lots of movies about serial killers, but don't worry, he doesn't do any research beforehand so he's not that obsessive. It won't have anything to do with the real Robert Pickton.

Nope, I just speak the truth. Read about Robert Pickton and then watch this movie. Or read about the Zodiac Killer and watch Ulli's interpretation of it. It'll make you wish you had some glass with which to poke out your eyes.

Have you (meaning sfilojon) seen the movie? I knew a victim of Pickton's. I live close to Vancouver, and I've never heard of this movie 'till it hit the news today. Nothin' like free advertising!!

reply

Nope, I haven't seen the movie, but I am merely on this board to protest Ulli Lommel's making of "real life" stories. Ever since I saw Ulli's "film" THE ZODIAC KILLER, I have been on a quest to stop him from making quite possibly the worst films of all time. So, sorry if I offended anybody. I wasn't on here to defend Pickton, but to defend anybody with half a brain from seeing a movie made by Ulli Lommel. :)

I truly think Pickton's story is disturbing and disgusting though, and don't think that his story should be taken lightly if made into a movie. There are dozens of people who lost their lives to Pickton for Ulli to turn their stories into nonsense-based B-movies? I don't think so. If you guys want to know what I mean, go rent THE ZODIAC KILLER from Blockbuster and you too will be offended that people like Ulli are allowed to make films on real life stories they know nothing about.

What do you mean by "hit the news today"? Do you mean the imdb? Or some other news outlet?? Where did you all read about this movie and when is it going to be released?? Is it available to rent? Please help me! I'm clueless! Thx!

Save your money! This movie was absolute *beep* we watched about 15 minutes of it and fast forwarded to the end to see if it improved any. It didn't. Very very repetitive, used the same scenes and taped dialogue over and over, poorly acted, lame presentation, maybe going for arty but ended up being one of the worst and most boring movies I have ever seen. Please don't encourage the director by renting this movie.

OMG I am appalled that they even made this movie. I was just watching the news and they brought this site up on there. I so feel for the other families that are involved, the ones that are still missing I know how they feel. They shouldn't make a movie about him. My cousin is still missing from all the ladies in the downtown eastside. I am so against the fact that they even made this movie. The message that they are giving basically says that become a serial killer and a movie will be made about you. SICK SICK SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am shocked to hear that a production company is already trying to cash in on the Pickton story. What's most surprising to me is that they were able to build a "story" around pre-trial conclusions. Yes, this case has not even completed the judicial system!

In the end, I suspect that the true story will be told in the courts and this shameful excuse for a film will be nothing more than yet another useless B grade movie.

Ulli Lommel - shame on you!

My deepest sympathies bizeau on the tragic loss of your daughter. I agree with what youve said completely. I'm concerned the dehumanization of these and other victims, making them into slasher movie fodder, is becoming the status quo. These victims were peoples wives, daughters, sisters, mothers and aunts. Real people with real families just like our own. This isnt 'movie' stuff. Profiting from the continuation of the torture of these already traumatized families and dishonoring and demeaning the memories of these victims is unconscionable. You have no shame.

reply

True, but what Ulli Lommel is doing is nothing new. People have glamourized and profited from serial killers and their victims for centuries.

(((((((( bizeau))))))))))) i agree with all that you posted. No need for me to add more.

bizeau I am so sorry for your loss. I am from outside Vancouver and I can remember hearing about that sick bastard Clifford Olson. I agree with all that you have said so I will leave my post at that. Bless you and your family.

My aunts best friend, Colleen Daignault was killed by Clifford Olson, she was on the way to my grandma's house when she was picked up at a bus stop by him
