Absloutely agree ...She didn't look like a former "Beauty Queen " at all !!! She has the most horrible manly walk & face ....and that wig eeeeek .
I would like to disagree, perhaps because I'm half-Texan, know a lot of people there, and found a strong sense of verisimilitude in Julia Roberts' portrayal. It's not fair to generalize, I suppose, but there are a lot of strong Texas women who "present" as she did in this film -- sweet talking, hard as nails, determined to make things happen, ruling their menfolk with enormous skill, and all the while doing 15 things at once. Just to say that for me she came across as a perfectly balanced representative of a kind of woman that a lot of Texas people would understand -- and, for sure, never underestimate.
