Jaguar Paw treated like a murderer by the villains

Jaguar Paw is the intended victim of the Mayan slave hunters. They capture Jaguar Paw and give him a slim chance at escape by running a lethal gauntlet. Jaguar Paw barely survives but has to kill one of the gauntlet who is the beloved son of the bloodthirsty Mayan slave hunter leader. The Mayan leader is enraged and reacts like Jaguar Paw murdered his son in cold blood. The Mayan intends to capture Jaguar Paw and kill him in a brutal manner. How's that for hypocrisy. But that mentality is mirrored in organized crime syndicates especially those of the extended family type. One of their young men attempts to murder some man who defends himself and kills the young man. The young man's family will regard his death as murder and go after the intended victim for their vengeance.

I see what you're saying. It strikes me that the invading tribe/bad guys just liked to kill. Jaguar Paw's tribe seem quite benevolent as they let another tribe pass and don't start any trouble. Jaguar Paw is a really cool hero.

Whats he supposed to congratulate jaguar paw for surviving the gauntlet and killing his son?

Five years later and laughing my ass off!

just to clarify for my friends in the U.S.A.........Jaguar Paw....the CORRECT pronunciation/spelling is JAGUAR.....JAG-YOU-AR.........NOT JAG-WAH as you like to say....same as in the British make of car.....why not use the letters that are in the word ?...same goes for ALUMINIUM-AL-YOU-MIN-E-UM....NOT AL-OOM-IN-UM.

Great, now that we have your thoughts, you can go back under the bridge.

Feel free to pronounce these words any way you wish... we will do the same.

...why not use the letters that are in the word ?

 After saying that, then you proceed to add a letter to aluminum in order to pronounce it the way you prefer.

Try harder next time. 

Aluminium (American spelling: aluminum) is a chemical element. The symbol for aluminium is Al, and its atomic number is 13. Aluminium is the most abundant metal.

Sir Humphry Davy would certainly be proud of you for going on and on about these things.

Now go back under your bridge like a good little troll... you've worked quite hard enough at your craft for now.

I've always liked the British aluminium over the American aluminum. Aluminum sounds so dull, common, cheap. On the other hand, aluminium sounds strong, exceptional, premium. The pronunciation makes it feel like it belongs among the upper class metals, like titanium, iridium, vanadium, osmium, adamantium (fictional), and vibranium (fictional).

Actually, we do pronounce all the letters in jaguar. Jag-oo-ar. When said quickly it comes out as jag-war. Perhaps you're not familiar with the fact that "U" isn't always pronounced "You?" Hell, in Spanish, it only makes an "oo" sound.

Also, we spell Aluminum differently. Dunno how it happened, but it did. How about you just relax a little.

reply

Just to clarify, the correct pronunciation of Jaguar in American English is JAG-WAH. The correct pronunciation in Britain is JAG-YOU-AR.

Pronunciation and usage are different between the two. (As it would be with other English speaking countries) Both are correct within their own countries. Both are incorrect in the other. This is normal. Acting superior, or claiming British is the correct version shows little more than a prejudicial bias.
