Wanted to enjoy, but ends up being so stupid and ridiculous

Such a strange film. The courageousness of it at first was appealing, it seemed a great context for an interesting film.

I'd heard it pitched as a non-stop chase film, but takes an hour and twenty minutes to get there. Then, just too many annoying things happen.

The insanely good aim of the enemy's spears and arrows that take out all the peripheral good guys - only to then start conveniently missing our hero once he's on the run.

The one arrow that goes through his torso doesn't affect his run one iota.

Stupid chase scene with a black panther, who cannot catch up to a man.

A drop of blood lands on the back of a man who is running fast, which would be immediately absorbed into his sweat, yet of course is discovered moments later.

The most ridiculous bit though is when it starts to rain. The pit that his wife and kid are trapped in starts to immediately flood. This is stupid for three reasons: 1) rain would not flood a pit that quickly, it would drain into the ground as quickly as the rain landed inside. 2) if it did flood that quickly, then it would have already been wet/flooded/slimy/growing plants from previous rainfalls. 3) It was in their interests for the pit to flood, as it meant they could float out. They weren't tied to the floor.

I can see the film meant well, but its just impossible to take seriously being that it swerves firmly into silly-action/comic book territory.
