4/10. Here's why:
9's visual style is very creative, but the plot isn't. In fact, it manages to drag at times despite not being even 90 minutes long. The characters are underdeveloped and none of the voice actors stand out. The whole point of adapting a short film to a feature film is to expand it. Script writers Shane Acker (who's also the director) and Pamela Pettler got more time to work with, but they did a bad job introducing the story. Actually, the entire 1st act is weak. Everytime someone or something is introduced, it happens in a way like the audience is already supposed to be familiarized with them/it. No, it has nothing to do with letting audiences think for themselves. On the contrary, Acker and Pettler did the thinking for us and then pretended we did. Why? Are they afraid they're gonna get in trouble so they framed us?
