I thought Emma, J.T., Kida, and Tate stood out the best this week. Thoughts?

I was monumentally disappointed when Robert chose J.T. I didn't think he did well at the Academy (is that what they called it?) and that other dancers clearly were better than him. I thought he was chosen for some cute factor and I love Robert and was sorry to see him go this route.

I've had to eat those words. I think J.T. has been phenomenal and there is some relationship between J.T. and Robert that is really special and I think Robert is getting as much from this experience as J.T. is.

That said, I didn't see the first hour and a half of the show last night since I was doing a necessary errand. But I got home to see Travis' routine and the end made me audibly gasp. I'll call it the best of the night even though I only got to see a few. :-)

The tappers were good though. I just think I like other styles more than tapping, as a rule.

I'm ambivalent about JT. On the one hand he is absolutely brilliant in his style. The contemporary routines that he shares with Robert bring tears to my eyes. I also love his impressions of Travis Wall.:P On the other hand, he's weak, especially compared to the other dancers, in picking up other styles. In last week's hip hop routine, Emma mopped the floor with him.
