Whats the point of Yoji?

I watch TLC a lot and often watch this show. But I am puzzled by Yoji's presence. Sure he is Ami's friend, but as an apprentice, he never ever progresses to the stage where he looks remotely like he will move onto doing full blown tattoo's like the rest of the crew? So what would someone like Yoji do to justify their salary at the shop? I cant imagine the others (outside Ami) would like to carry him. Not that he is anymore useless than Baby Dre (I think I spelt it right)

Thanks for the free advice, however here is a little of my own: Its the IMDB message board son not a social networking site open only to members of a writing guild with a Pulitzer to their name. Hence I don't get overly anal over it. U obviously do.

You should say, "It's" (short for it is) rather than "its". Just saying...
