Molly Parker COME ON, MAN

HEY, this is not a criticism, but a plea to women. I've seen Molly Parker in interviews, and I know she is a very intelligent person.

Let me start out by saying:

(1) This movie was great, provided you don't have Batman posters covering your bedroom wall.

(2) Molly Parker is the greatest actor of all time, period. Actors like Gary Oldman and Richard Burton (etc.) are great, too, but their performances don't usually make grown men curl up into the fetal position.

Okay, then: in the DVD special features, Molly Parker says:

"I mean, [Will] has [disappeared] as a result of the betrayal of [his wife, Maggie] and his best friend sleeping together, that he witnessed, and, while I know that that's a bad, bad thing, they just seem so disproportionate to me; the abandonment seems so much worse."

Chicks just don't understand guys. If a guy is REALLY in love, there's NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING worse than getting cheated on, except maybe seeing your children tortured and murdered before your eyes. (In the other room is okay.) This applies to smart guys and dumb guys, fat guys and skinny guys, conservatives and liberals. Show me a guy who says otherwise, and I'll show you a guy

------> WHO ISN'T REALLY IN LOVE.<------

Men and women probably feel differently about this because of biology and evolution. Look at it from what I'll call the woman's "biological point of view" (which is not to say how she thinks about the situation consciously): If a woman cheats and gets pregnant, the kid is still hers. Again, from her biological point of view, if her man cheats, he's a total douchebag, but it's still possible he might come back to her and keep whatever family they have together. Either way, whatever offspring she has are still hers. Now look at it from the man's "biological point of view": For thousands of years, men had no way of knowing if their offspring were theirs biologically, except if they could be certain their women weren't cheating on them. Paternity testing is relatively new (1960s). Ergo, men who don't absolutely get freaked out by the idea of strange penises coming anywhere near their women will be weeded right out of the gene pool. Guys like me are left.

YEAH BABY

For the record, I'd hack off my own legs before I ever cheated on a girl. Not when I was stoned, though, because that would really be crazy.
