I don't know if anybody mentioned this but if Lars was the time traveled and refrozen Fry that he turned out to be, then wouldn't he be like 45 years old? I mean, he didn't look it (but he did when he was Fry).

I think he was supposed to be around 40 to 45. Can't remember how old Fry was, somewhere in his 20's, then he was frozen in 1999. Lars lived til 2012 before refreezing himself. Then three years before meeting Leela again?

When Fry first came to the future, he was 25 years old. According to the movie, he has been living there for 7 years, which would make him 32 years old. The duplicate Fry lived in the past for 12 years before refreezing himself and becoming Lars. Therefore, Fry/Lars would be 44 years old.

Fry arrived in the future 25.

Lived for 7 years, making him 32.

So far both Lars & Fry are 32 (for the sake of adding up).

Lars lived for 12 years in the past making him 44.

He unfroze 3 years earlier (was it 3?, he unfroze x years before the movie started to get the job at the museum and set up a life), which means he's 47.

Fry is still 32, Lars would be 47.

Unless my maths is horribly off, which isn't something new.

What I want to know is if being back in the past for 12 years is what made Lars so much more mature than Fry, or if it was specifically the Leelu thing.

Maybe it wasn't being in the past necessarily, but just the fact that he was physically older and had "grown up." Lars seemed way smarter and more level-headed than Fry or the Fry duplicate who became Lars when he initially appeared in the past. He had 15 years to mature enough to finally be the guy Leela wanted. Too bad things didn't work out. I don't know though. His time with Leelu could have helped him mature, too.

In my opinion, Fry taking on the responsibility of caring for Leeloo and then dealing with her loss and understanding that her happiness was more important than his made Lars a man Leela could finally love without restraint.

The way I figure he would be 50/51. Fry was frozen when he was 25. He had been there for almost 8 years making him 33. He went back to 1999/2000 at 33, the original went back to 3008 making him still 33. The copy/ time paradox fry stayed in the past until 2012 making him 45(or 46 depending if it was before or after his bday) he froze himself in 2012 until 3002(still 45/46). He is there at least 5 years as Lars meeting back up with the planet express crew in late 3007, making him 50 or 51.
