It only takes 7 years to make the top 30?
Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, The Tournament takes place. A battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins. The last man standing receiving the $10,000,000 cash
Would this not mean that every 7 years there is an almost complete purge of all the world's best assassins? It can take decades to garner a reputation as a good hitman trusted to work with governments and warlords alike yet somehow 29 of the best are slain every two thirds of a decade.
I suppose it is as good a reason as any to explain the lack of hired killers in recent years, in the 1970's there was one on every street.
