I must becoming a sad old git

because I really had problems with picking up the dialogue on this movie and the DVD I saw it on didn't have sub-titles. It wasn't the accents, it was that the actors seemed to mumble or speak sotto voce.

My number 2 gripe is the use of songs in the movie (and lots of others too). Okay it might be post-modern and fab, hip, cool, groovy for the script writer to say 'lets stick a song in here, over the montage, which conveys what the characters would say' but, to me, it seems like padding (or laziness) and it's intrusive as it says to the viewer 'I'm really still the producer here and it'll take you out of the story by adding someone else's words'.

Oh, apart from that.....what a great movie even if the ending was a little syrupy. And I still want to know what happened to the guy who copped the beating in the carpark.

Some of the time I had no idea what they were saying (mainly the blonde girl). I'm usually fine with strong English accents (I'm Australian but half of my family is English), but some of it was either too strong, too fast or wasn't supposed to make any sense.

Fair enough though. I still got the jist. xD

Yeahh I want to know what happened with Yousif. Kind of left that a bit open-ended. and would have liked to see what actually happened with them. Considering how they're only 17, and had only known each other for what.. 2 months?
