The movie will be released probably next year around basketball season if not earlier however it will not be out in 2006. The delay was cause by Mr. Osments mishap in behavior and the law. No worries we will get to see the movie.

it will most likely be early next year or something..but Haley's mishap hadn't A THING do with the release

I agree. Mr. Osment got arrested after the principle shooting and even then, Mr. Osment was still in the area after his arrest, so he could still go. Oh well.

actually I have a good friend who is Osment's double in the film, he was told specifically that besides the movie not being 100% complete there was also question on wiating on the release so that the news and rection to Osment's mishap to blow over so there would not be negative press bing tied to the movie through him.

According to the 6th November update at IMDB , the film is 'completed' . Please note, however, that this is not true at this current time . All filming for the movie is completed, but post production work is ongoing. Since the last filming was in August 2006, post production is expected to take between 4 and 6 months, before the final version of the film is ready . When post production on the film is finally completed, we will release the news officially here ."

The following facts;

The delay had nothing to do with Haley's driving, or the director.

It was due to the roller coaster nature of independent feature financing.

The film will be finished mid, late February and shopped for the first
time to distriubtors.

Also, I've seen the cut. The movie is great.

Sorry folks...i work at a Regal Entertainment theater in Albany, New York, and there is no news about HOTG being released in at least any regal across the country in March of 07....so either it's incredibly independent and will be released strictly at art house theaters or it won't be released until after August (that's how far our release date stats go, they're 101% accurate as well)

BTW they're just fininshing Post production this week so i'm guessing it still has a lil more time left

American World Pictures has been hired to bring a fresh new marketing strategy to get Hotg a theatrical release. They are replacing Conquistador World Wide Media.

AWP has already represented Hotg at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and at Discop East '08. Discop is a market where buyers and sellers meet and where you can show your product, and hopefully come to a distribution deal of some kind. Discop focuses on Eastern and Central Europe.

I also recently learned that they are in negotiations with ABC Family for the television rights of Hotg. I don't know the current status of that negotiation. Hotg will of course be shown on television after the theatrical release.

Well, that's what I know so far. No word on a possible release date though :(

August 14, 2008: Only a minor update today, but any update is better than none. Negotiations and discussions for a distribution deal for Home of the Giants are still ongoing, so we hope to have more news about it some time soon. And Ryan already had one project released that was filmed just months after Home of the Giants, it's called Comanche moon (a CBS mini-series). And he may even have another project released before Hotg, Ryan filmed a movie called Wild cherry a couple of months ago. It's a crazy business. Home of the Giants is an amazing movie but they just can't find the distribution deal that it deserves.

There was an unofficial "premiere" in Marion, IN tonight. I went and really enjoyed the movie. Very good storyline that kept the movie moving. Rusty was there to introduce the movie and have a Q & A session afterwards. Nice of him to do that and explaining that funding kept the movie from being filmed in Marion. But there were some nice town shots throughout the movie. Nice job!
