Expecting a wide release?

Is this expected to be a relatively large film? I happened across this IMDB page by chance and had not previously known about it. I'm actually involved with a two piece folk and blues based project called Mojave Phone Booth and I'm sort of concerned that people will feel that we lifted our name from this film.

It's an indie digi dogma movie. Not backed by a studio. It'll play festivals first, then see what happens with a release. There is also a book coming out written by Doc Daniels who started the whole MPB internet phenomenom.

Is anyone else really weirded out about Steve Guttenberg being in this type of movie? That should be interesting to watch.

reply

not at all. he's really good in it. a different role for him that he pulls off completely.

I just saw "Mojave" as an intern for a film festival (Can't say which yet for rights reasons) and not only is Gutenberg very good in it, the film as a whole is unique and hopefully will get some good play on the festival circuit. It deserves to bee seen by a wider audience too... I can see it being a decent cult hit, especially on DVD and at colleges. I'm glad to see people talking it up on the internet...it shows that there's a real audience for a different kind of movie such as this.

They are going to show this at the Charlotte Film Festival in about 2 weeks (weekend of Sept. 15). I think I might have to check it out.

I'd love to go see this but I probably won't get the chance.
