Any new news yet on a cinema and DVD release?

I watched the trailer on the official site for Mojave Phone Booth yesterday and liked the feel and look of the film. I found out about it from an Annabeth Gish fan site. I became a fan of hers when she appeared in The X Files and have been following her work ever since. I was interested in the story of MPB the film, so that was one of the reasons for becoming interested in it along with Annabeth Gish being in it.

Anyway why I started this thread was to ask if there's been any new news on a cinema and DVD release of Mojave Phone Booth.

keep an eye on the website. the movie is almost done. should be see-able sometime before the end of the year. the festival link on the site will have festival playdates as they occur.

I just saw the film at a "Spotlight" screening at the DancesWithFilms Film Fest in Hollywood. It's great! This is proof that you don't need a big budget or special effects to make a great, character driven movie. At the Q&A after the film, the filmmakers mentioned that it is going to be at the StoneyBrook film festival. I hope the film gets distributed and finds an audience because it deserves to be seen. By the way, I'm not connected with the film in any way.

Thanks for posting your comments on the movie. Good to read something new about the movie and also an update on where the film is being shown. Fingers crossed it might be released before the end of this year.

I work at the theater that holds the Stony Brook Film Festival (Staller center at Stony Brook University) and our fest is going on right now. I just saw the movie tonight, and it was great! I'll reply more to the main post.

I'm a huuuuuuuuge X-Files fan (moved to New York with fellow philes from the L.A. area because of it), and I'm actually from the Mojave Desert and I've actually followed the Mojave Phone Booth web site for several years...and I work at the theater at Stony Brook University where the movie was just screened tonight at the Stony Brook Film Festival. I had to catch the screening for all of the above reasons, and I was NOT disappointed! The movie was great! I made my boyfriend (a film buff) watch it with me, and I think he loved it even more than I did.

There was a Q&A with the writers, producer, and one actress (who plays "Alex") afterwards, but no one asked anything about distribution (at least, not while I stayed). However, my boss might know or be able to find out, so I'll try to remember to ask him tomorrow.

I worked at the same fest. I think it was really good, but like alli I dunno when it's coming out. But I hope it does at some point because it was a good movie.

Great great film! Saw it at the Valley film fest with the filmmakers and most of the cast present. GREAT FILM!!!

I heard you'll see this movie on DVD before the end of 2007. Also a cable deal is being worked out at the moment. Like myself, I would keep an eye on the website. Meanwhile there will be an LA screening on June 13th @ 7:30PM at the Fine Arts theater in Beverly HIlls. Its free. go to www.studio screenings.com and click on 'special events' tab and you'll get all the info plus an rsvp link. A lot of the cast and filmmakers will be on hand for a Q&A after.
