Comments and rating on this movie

After reading a comment above by a person saying he wish he could swear these 9,10 rated comments are by ppl affiliated w/ the movie b/c the movie wasnt that gr8, I checked each member and was surprised to find all but one were new members who only rated & commented on this film, wth? And the "singled-out member" just rated this movie and one other new release. Anyway I think I'll wait before buying this DVD. These ppl affiliated w/ new releases that sign up only to manipulate us waste their time. Don't they realize that we also go to other sites, compare and sometimes even check out the membership. They do the same thing for new software at downlaod.com

I stumbled across the story a couple of weeks ago, read all about the phone booth at deuceofclubs, and then bought the movie from Amazon last week. I loved it -- I'd give it about an 8.5 out of 10. I'm not affiliated with the movie at all, so...whatever. It's definitely worth seeing, although it's $20 at Amazon, so it's pricey if you can't find a rental copy. Hopefully the price will come down in a little while, or maybe you can try ebay or half.com or alibris, or something.

I see your point about phoney imdb posters who might actually be shills, but we don't know for sure, do we?

I rented this movie from Hollywood Video and can actually say it's a good human drama. If you're an educated, contemplative, thinking type of person who likes artsy type human-interest dramas with entertaining twists and turns then MOJAVE PHONE BOOTH is worth watching. Don't rent this movie if you're expecting a horror movie, graphic violence, or explicit nudity and sex. You'll be disappointed. With that said, I can see why MOJAVE PHONE BOOTH won all those film festival awards.

Mojave phone booth is one of the better small budget movies i've seen
lately but i'm not all that impressed with the film festival awards it
got.
The reason for this is that i've seem many poor movies win these kinds
of awards so these awards actually lack credibility and seem to be the
only real promotional assets that these low budget movies have.

Apparently a movie really doesn't need to be of a high standard or to be
really remarkable to win these kinds of awards.

You can't win an Oscar or a Globe Globe? No problem.Come and show us
your movie and if you're lucky,we will give you a prize and that
will be your promotion when you release the movie in the theaters or on DVD.

I'd be curious to know how these film festival awards shows get started.

Perhaps by people who want to get into the film business?
