So the weather girl with the monkey puppet is now a regular on Christopher Guest's HBO series Family Tree.

On that show, actress Nina Conti plays "Bea Chadwick & Monkey."
So was this the first continuing character in the Christopher Guest collection? Since Miss Conti is doing the same bit with the monkey puppet on Family Tree is she supposed to be the same character that appeared in For Your Consideration?

Are we to assume that Bea Chadwick once had a job as a weather girl on a morning talk show? If she's not the same character, then it's a mighty big coincidence that there are two different female characters who both use a monkey puppet to express the inner thoughts they wouldn't dare utter out loud and who are both played by the same actress.

Okay, Nina Conti is actually a ventriloquist comedian. One of her characters is that monkey puppet named Monk. She used Monk for the film and I guess she is using him again for Family Tree. I don't think she is playing the same character from For Your Consideration.

I heard one of the reporters in 'For Your Consideration' address her as Nina. So she's playing a different character.

Apparently she was playing herself in For Your Consideration.
