Do you think Gervais did some uncredited writing work on this film? I know this would never be admitted to, because the WGA are so strict, but some of the lines certainly had his style about them in my opinion.

There was no traditional script. The lines were improvised.

He didn't contribute much to this particular film.
I know he's wildly popular, but in this one- he wasn't the source of many laughs

"what's this? A doorknob? Good show!" -- the easily impressed Dr. Bartley

He was great, and those were his lines. Delightfully seedy, well pitched.
