What...huh...not again!!!

Ok, this is the second movie in 2 days that I have rented that have pissed me off!!! I have been mislead! I was hoping for an easy, horror movie. Real simple plot, heck no plot at all would have been better. Ghosts, zombies, anything....misrepresentation.

Damn....I was douped!

Again.

Oh, yeah, the other movie was Bridge to Terabithia...if you are expecting a fantasy movie...keep walking, don't rent it!!

That's it...no more new movies for me, gonna have to watch some old ones to rid myself of all this dissappointment.

(Needed to add, The Return and Dark Corners...two other movies that left me with that empty, lied to feeling.)

You should try reading a synopsis or movie review before you rent a video. It tells you what the DVD is about right on the back cover.

Thanks SO much, I would never have thought to do that! I guess it will tell me on the back cover "don't rent this piece of crap". Movie reviews, I never thought of those. All those valued opinions of people who think they are important.

You have now saved me from watching crappy movies!

I'm not talking about the review. The summery of BTT says, "This is a story about two imaginative kids who create their own fantasy world." Which would tell you that it's NOT what you thought it was. Apparently you haven't got the brains to comprehend a summery or to differentiate between summaries and reviews.

Maybe you should read your own suggestions before you try for a witty response.

The synopsis you provided would indicate that the movie watcher would get to see the fantasy world the children created. Which was not the main focus of the movie. In fact, watching the trailer suggests you WOULD have seen a fantasy movie, so reading the synopsis is in agreement with the trailer.

It's sad the Disney took this route for BTT, misleading, from what I understand it was a wonderful book. Like I said on the BTT board, it probably was a wonderful story, but wasn't what most non-readers of the book were led to believe it was.

"Jesse Aarons trained all summer to become the fastest runner in school, so he's very upset when newcomer Leslie Burke outruns him and everyone else. Despite this and other differences, including that she's rich, he's poor, and she's a city girl, he's a country boy, the two become fast friends. Together, they create Terabithia, a land of monsters, trolls, ogres, and giants and rule as king and queen. This friendship helps Jess cope with the tragedy that makes him realize what Leslie taught him." (From IMBD.com)

That doesn't sound like a scifi/fantasy movie to me. Grow up and learn to read.

Nice try. Go look at the BBT message board. There are many people there you can throw your insults at. Nice being insulted by you, it was fun.

Fine enough of BTT check out the summery for this film. Looks more psychological thriller than horror. Sure they're close...Psycho and Friday the 13th are basically the same film.

It wasn't just the original poster. Alot of movies released recently have been total let downs. Sometimes I watch them, hoping they pick up at the ending, but they rarely do. As far as bridge to Terrabithia, that was advertised the wrong way. Many people expected a fantasy, only to find something completely different. The Return was just absolutely horrible. On the flip side, some movies that were actually quite good (although a little confusing at times) were Memory, the Prestige (ok, this one could get really confusing, but I still loved it), and Population 436 (not the greatest movie, but worth the watch.)
