Sickening

I just had a baby four weeks ago. My cable description made it look like this was a mystery movie. I can't beleive somone would make such an awful movie. I know it's about stuff that happens in real life, but that's the point, why do we have to see it on TV if it's already going on around us? I understand that PPD is very serious, luckily I've had no problems with it, but the end is just so awful. This is a lifetime movie?

I hope the channel ran a warning. This is not a mystery nor a thriller, as you unfortunately discovered, but a very gripping examination of a woman suffering from PPP.

I was extremely saddened by the ending. I normally don't mind twist type or unconventional endings, but I was freaked out by this one. Not only did the ending suck, I kept expecting there to be some big reveal somewhere. This movie went off in way to many different directions (Jenny, the nanny, witchcraft, item under baby's bed, etc.) I kept watching it just waiting for it to end, and then when it did I was sickened.

That's excactly why the movie was made. For women who may be suffering from PPD and not even know it. The story was very unsettling indeed however this movie could serve as an opportunity to help other women. And it makes you wounder, could you have PPD and not even know it?

Where'd my baby go ? Oh I buried it in the ground and didn't know it, because I didn't know I was a psycho lunna tick!

Talk about ending of a movie! What ending? It was dumb!

you keep watching to the screen 'till the credits begin

can't say that about every movie<>

no true sweetness without tasting bitterness..

Congrats on your new baby.

They do this alot with films, we all know that..
Just like the Death Wish movies, but those are good.

I haven't seen this movie, I was actually lookin' for the 1984 version

The world meets nobody halfway

reply

congrats on the new baby, first of all.

I'm not sure what you expect of Hollywood...perhaps it's because this movie hit too close to home for you, but i imagine people who have had family members murdered or go missing might also have the same reaction to a "mystery" movie. Most fiction is taken from real life - this includes movies, TV shows, books, poems, you name it.

Some subjects may his nerves with some people, but I suggest you just stay away from those types of movies then (I understand you were mislead by te discription) rather than ridicule it.

Hollywood is going to continue to make movies and we may not all like the subjects, but such is life.

this is the worst movie i have ever seen i cant believe the end just sick they dont need to make movies about women killing babys at all a baby is pure we dont need to see this kind of crap they should put in the summery a baby will die in the movie so we dont have to end up watching this sick wrong movies this movie made me so mad i wanna slap who ever directed it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Right. They should put the major plot twist right there in the summary. Children often die in movies and TV shows as well, just like children often die in real life. As a previous poster mentioned, there will always be something that hits a nerve with some potential viewer. It could be the murder of an adult, or a rape, or a kidnapping, or someone being tortured. The list is endless. People endure all of these things in real life. If all filmmakers stayed away from controversial and troubling issues, then there would be a very limited number of topics for them to explore. I wonder if those of you who hate this movie and think it's "sick" had the same problem with Shutter Island.
