Played the part perfectly. His performance was so convincing that I truly felt for the guy. His mad rantings were such a joy to listen to. He put everything he had into this character. Frenzied energy and an electric screen presence. He plays 'crazy' very well.

Everyone else did a great job, also, but, ultimately, this is Michael Shannon's film.

I agree completely. It wouldn't be as good without him and I think it's his best role.

Really amazing performance. When he goes completely off the edge, it feels like a natural progression for the character even though it seems to unravel so quickly. He's really convincing as a man that is fully in the grips of madness.
