commentary

I just saw it because I wanted to see a turkish film, well I wont say it is unwatchable but the plot is pretty flimsy and the part with the dog eating intestines was ridiculous. I am not quite sure what the message of the movie is but it seems to be pro-kurdistan which is alright but it is a bit confusing that it minimizes this with the protagonist rejecting the students' and exile communities' rallies for his murdered brother.

i am really suprised there isn't more discussion regarding this movie, i watched it last night on netflix and it seems that the movie would be very polarizing

i am interested in what people thought about it, and what the message was besides that life can be difficult

there were definitely some issues with the movie but it also dealt with some very important themes

It was a gripping film but also seemed a bit over the top, at times. I agree...the dog scene was pretty bizarre, something out of a cheesy low-budget slasher film.

The film did seem to try to paint the Kurds in a positive light, compared to the way the Turks were portrayed, but as it progressed it began to show more of the negative side of the Kurds as well.
