...ALREADY! ...It's annoying and its becoming waaay too unoriginal...from WTC, United 93, Reign Over Me, WTC View, Blah blah...repetitive...and im sick of it. Can they use a different premise please? How in the hell does "Crash" win Best Picture and "Do The Right Thing" didnt even get nominated?
Wow, that's only been what 4 movies? And Reign Over Me really didnt deal with it that much. I mean how many WW2 movies have there been? Waaayyy more that 9/11 movies. So it's nothing to complain about at all.
yea 4 *beep* Movies about the same $h!t int he last what 3 years...that obviously mean there will be ALOT more! A LOT MORE witht he same darn premise...this should annoy any movie fan out there...when filmmakers have the chance to have so many innovative ideas on film, and if they alls tart doing the same crap is just very redundant, repetitive and playing it "safe"
How in the hell does "Crash" win Best Picture and "Do The Right Thing" didnt even get nominated?
Okay, first off, no one can be 100% original anymore-there's so many movies period that it can't happen. Then...different 911 movies, to me, are better than say 4 remakes of the *same* film. How many Heidis do we need? Or Secret Gardens? As much I love them, do we really need 4? At least each 911 movie has differences in plots since they're not remakes.
Plus I'll watch this one since I haven't seen the others...well Farenheit 9/11 but that's a documentary more so I'm not counting it.
Concerning 'August' as soon as I say 9/11 in the description I just went cold, I'm just plain not interested, wouldn't care if it had a 9/10 rating.
I don't live in America, but I have to admit I get to September every year and it's that 'here we go again, not 9/11' or 'yeah America tell us all about it AGAIN' I might have missed some all important detail over the past 7 YEARS.
As with all things in life you've just got to get over it. America has received one tragic event and it comes across that we (everybody but USA) has to understand EVERY year that USA has had this terrible thing happen to it, you have to just get over it!, many a tragedy has happened to every country in the world and many deaths have been moarned, but just let it go, you loose the whole meaning of what happened by going over & over & over & over & over & over & over it.
In fairness to the OP, every summary and blurb I've ever seen about this movie at least mentions 9/11, when it should mention the dot-com bubble. THAT's the actual setting.
You're right. It has very little to do with 9/11. That sad part is, they marketed it as such just to drum up some attention. Very sad and very misleading.
I've just seen it and it's not a 9/11 movie. I know it's mentioned in the description but it's not even mentioned in the film. The only (unspoken, unmentioned) relavence that 9/11 has to the film is the fact that it's set just before the economic havoc that 9/11 caused.
Wow. I'm guessing you've seen the movie now, so do you feel kind of dumb now that it was revealed that 9/11 had almost nothing to do with the movie, and that it was only set in that exact period because it was right at the dot-com bubble was bursting?
