A shameful lifestyle for someone who is supposed to be a man of God.

OK, I'm no bug fundamentalist Christian but has Run never heard that its harder for a rich man to get into heaven than a camel to get through the eye of the needle.
How can people like Run and all the rich pastors and televangelists etc even make an excuse for living lavish lifestyles like they do when it is said clear and plain in the bible that that is not the way to be?

Just because he has nice things doesn't mean he's a bad person. As long as he loves God and lives by God than it should be fine. He probably just wants his family to have nice things.

reply

Only Gods judgement of him really matters.

reply

That rule is clearly set down in the Bible....the fact he wants to give his children nice things is irrelevant.

Maybe the Bible was referring to rich people who only care about themselves. I can't see God blessing people with millions of dollars and not expecting them to use the money to live comfortably. I would venture to say, that it has to be meant for rich and selfish people.

There is absolutely NO point in working hard to make money if you can't enjoy it, I'm sure Rev pays his tithes, I thought all you had to do was give 10% away, not live a poor life just because.

We can't all be Mother Theresa or Ghandi.

run is rich because of his achievements and he gives and gives how could you say theres something wrong with his lifestyle? he's raising his kids not to be brats like you see on the super sweet 16 show. he is a good man

reply

I love how people just change the words of the Bible at their will to support their wrongdoing.
As for the 10% bit...that's not in the Bible.

I think Run is a lot better than a lot of these shady pastors out here that act like God is supposed to be their magical genie. In the episode where he made Russy & Diggy write prayer letters to God, he taught Russy a very important lesson. God isn't a fairy godfather..so ur wishes wont automatically be granted just b/c you pray for them.

And I can't believe you're passing judgment on someone you don't know personally. I'm assuming you're a sinner as well, unless I'm wrong and you're perfect and have committed no sins (not sure how that's possible). I don't really see how you can pass judgment on him, I don't know who you think you are, but that's just as bad as what you're accusing him of doing.

One scripture:

Numbers 18:26
Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

"Passing judgement" eh? I'm obviously not perfect but that's irrelevant when I say that this man is obviously not fully embracing the Christian message like he really should if he is a pastor.
There was an episode where he bought like some 500k car and his son was embarrassed and the whole show was about how he shouldn't be embarrassed because they are stinkin rich. I mean WTF, this guy is supposed to be a pastor and that's the best lesson he could think up that week? "Its alright that I buy a five hundred thousand dollar car because that's who we are", hello? Starving children? Christian charities. No, all you are interested in is the occassional "inspirational text" and a whole lot of money from your fashion label.

I think you are taking the scripture from the Bible out of context. Nowhere in the Bible does it say a rich man won't get into heaven. If you are ruthless in acquiring your riches, then, that is different. I'm unaware of a scripture that says "if you are rich, you won't go to heaven unless you give it all to Christian charity." Why does the fact they are rich bother you?

reply

That was a car he already had. You need to know this man already had money before he was Rev. Run. You are passing judgment, it's his money he can spend anyway he pleases. He's not getting money from the church purchasing these items like Cleflo Dollar.

It is harder for a rich man to get into heaven, I would have to agree.

I do think its possible to be rich and Christian, but yes, it is much harder!

I want to point out that the ministry that Rev. Run is into promotes "Prosperity", amongst a lot of other non-biblical belief, so that's something to think about.

Check out his ministry and Bishop Jordan http://www.bishopjordan.com/school_prophecy/proph_minstrel/revrun.htm....

Bishop Jordan is a false prophet, dude is out there. I once got an email from Zoe Ministries saying that 666 is no longer the mark of the beast, and is now being used by God or some garbage.

Do your research Christians!

Just because someone calls himself a "Christian" and "Rev" doesn't mean he's without sin, I personally believe he's been deceived.

But it could happen to any of us, rich or not.

If you're a Christian, stay rooted in the Lord and in the Bible.

I believe that Run is a good person and is a great guy, let's pray for him and love him, and try to be good servants that way.

I pray that he has a relationship with God, and that the Lord will work with him as He sees fit.

if you actually watched the show you would realize he has good morales and he is trying to show his family the best way of life. He's an awesome father and a good husband. And his wealth has ntohing to do with his relationship with the heavenly beings, its what he shows tot he world.

I hate people like you. THAT'S right, I said it. I HATE people. Like you. People who think that just because they're life is crap that they are given a self-defined birth right to judge everyone else around them. You think you know what God wants? Do you think YOU, you, a insignificant mortal human, who cannot even COMPARE yourself to God's will, have the power to pass judgement? Your a filthy sinner just like the rest of us, you fake a$$ Dudly Do-Right. You need to get a serious slap-in-the-face raincheck if you think you are even CAPABLE OR QUALIFIED to pass around your high-nosed, snotty judgement on others. Rev. Run is a man who takes the time to relate to his children, mold them with good values, and keeps them open to the world around them with loving care. He is a good, wholesome man that should be an example to all fathers, and you damn well know that. How many times do you see him constantly giving back to the Community he preaches to? Do you think he just sits on a royal chair all day and has maids bring him dinner? IN FACT, I've never seen one damn maid or cook walk into that house, showing he believes in teaching his children to work for themselves. You've got a lot of disgusting nerve to go around telling people how to live their lives, knowing if you were in THEIR place, you would live your life the same way. And don't even pull that crap on me, saying that you wouldn't, because we all know ourselves to be human. I'm so sick and tired of you people thinking you can talk for God when you have no damn clue. We are ALL God's children. We ALL walk in HIS light. NOT. YOURS. Only God can judge us. I've had it up to here with your selfish bible-thumping 'Christians' who think it's your mission to boss around the world. GET OFF. YOUR HIGH. HORSE.
