The best one out there is "Human Traffic" but "Go" by Doug Liman is definitely worth seeing as well.

Try Party Monster.

"Be.Angeled"
events happen to various people during the Berlin Love Parade. Although it's a German film, much of the dialogue is in English, and the DVD has subtitles for the rest. You could order the DVD online (although you'll need a region-free DVD player or software), download it, or pick up a copy at Frankfurt airport while changing planes, like I did.

"A Midsummer Night's Rave"
Exactly what it sounds like. Meh.

"Stark Raving Mad"
Bank robbers use a rave to hide the noise of breaking into a vault. Made in Vancouver, where cops are irresistibly drawn to raves as if they were giant, glowing, thumping, donuts. Yeah, that's a great plan.

"House Of The Dead"
Unintentionally funny Uwe Boll film. Also made somewhere near Vancouver. Zombie slaughter with a thumping big-beat soundtrack.

Documentaries:
"Synergy: Visions Of Vibe" too much talking (California)
"Better Living Through Circuitry" interviews with electronic musicians
haven't see these yet:
"Rise - The Story Of Rave Outlaw Disco Donnie" (New Orleans); not to be confused with "Rize", although that's supposed to be cool but about a different dance scene.
"Moment Utopia" (Pacific Northwest, probably)
"Summer Love" (Vancouver, Canada area)

Don't look into party monster. well there are two, i've seen one and the other looks just as bad.

the one with seth green is what i saw, there isn't anything good about. the acting is horrendous and anything that happens in it is just plain dumb.

I'd say SLC Punk is closer to human traffic/groove than party monster is. but SLC Punk isn't the same scene. Take human traffic meets trainspotting. It's about some punk kids in utah that pretty much do the same things as in human traffic, just with a punk element not a rave.

(not saying trainspotting is really depicting the punk scene, it's just a darker film. SLC Punk has a darker aspect to it compared to human traffic)

you should check out it's all gone pete tong...and berlin calling...though it might be hard to get your hands on that one. also check out boys and girls guide to getting down...its not about the same music scene, but about the drug and partying lifestyle.

'London' with jessica biel is a good drug film but it's not about raves,
Spun is worth checking out & there's one called 'Fix' which i have'nt yet seen.

reply

Also not about raves, but very comedic and much about drugs is
'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'
with Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro, based on a self-referential gonzo journalism piece by Hunter Thompson. Directed by Terry Gilliam.

"It's All Gone Pete Tong" was terrific IMO

I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen...

"loved up", has to be the best, genuinely looks & feels like it's made by people with some "experience" of the subject matter!

"Go" is my favorite. I would also say "Party Monster," that is if you feel comfortable watching Culkin and Seth Green portray homosexuals.

How about Ecstasy Rising? This is a documentary on MDMA, and is where I learned that, guess what, MDMA doesn't actually cause Parkinson's Disease.
