What I Remeber Now @ age 63

I was a 7th grader at the time. I remember Syracuse and their helmets. I was attracted to the fact the numbers were not centered over the ear hole as was customary but behind the earhole and somewhat smaller than depicted in the movie. The Texas coach Daryll Royal I don't think ever wore a fedora type hat or dressed like Tom Landry on the sidelines...I may be wrong. Life magazine had an issue with a story of the Cotton Bowl after Syracuse won the game. The Redskins were one of the last NFL teams to integrate and did it I believe by trading for a Clevland WR named Bobby Mitchell. He was also a great player for the Browns and complimented Jimmy Brown very well. The coach of the Browns was Paul Brown. Texas had won its first 8 games that year but were upset 9-14 by TCU and then beat A&M to go to the Cotton Bowl as SWC Champs.
