I sure hope so, the christmas special was very funny, alot funnier that the recent Only Fools And Horses Christmas specials (2001-2003). More of the gay bull too! lol.

I hope they are. I read some where that thet show had better veiwing figures out of all current TV comedies.
shareYeah. As this was the First series they have to give it a chance to breathe a little. You could call it the warm-up period, or the Dress-Rehearsal. I think its kinda the norm for first Series, when they are brand new.
Also, as it is a spin off of OFaH it had a lot to ride on.
I'd say that for the next Series the Characters and Actors will be more settled in, it should be more relaxed and hopefully as a result, loads more Laughs.

Exactly - a lot of people don't give it a fair chance because of that. I think I've said before that "Going Straight" must have faced much the same preconceptions as a sequel to "Porridge" back in 1978.
True, and though "Going Straight" didn't reach exactly the same heights that "Porridge" did, I believe it still won a Bafta, which says something. So it did very well.
shareIndeed it did. I remember getting the DVD of it in octobr '04, and thinking, what's everyone complaining about? So I wrote the first review of it on here - and a few more positive ones have since followed, but (at the last inspection) only one negative comment has been written. Do you think I could take the credit for getting GS revived to a new audience? . . . no, I don't really think so either!
