What happened in the final segment of the movie. Also I would like to know was there stunt doubles used in the scene when Nicole Lauker dives into the water to help get Zoe Ravena out of the water after being shot?

In the final scene, Zoe and Nicole are recuperating in the hospital. In the middle of the night, the guy with the accent who had threatened to kill Nicky's mother and sister earlier in the film shows up in her hospital room. He says that the FBI got to the five million dollars before he could, but he was impressed with her smarts and her strength, and if she ever wanted a job, his boss would be interested in talking to her.
Looks like Zoe was shot dead center in her back and it struck a rib before doing and real damage??
Also, the PI Nicole hired looked like an idiot, standing up and walking directly into the line of fire while shooting chairs and crap nowhere near the other guy. Yeah, he was cheap at twice the price alright.
