Well, to be fair, Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development) is in charge, so it's not just a Hollywood cash cow. The guy created the funniest sitcom I've ever seen, so I think it's in good hands.
Also, in my opinion, the original is funny but has many flaws, so a remake isn't a bad idea. I'm normally against remakes as well, but I'm not going to write this one off just because of America's history of a million bad remakes when admittedly, there have been a few that have stood up to their predecessor.
