A Meta Perspective of C. Spaulding + Retribution

It's like... Imagine a parallel world where Captain Spaulding doesn't **SPOILER: go out in a hail of gunfire at end of Devil's...END SPOILER**

Instead he just walks away, and tries to resume a new life in his old hometown. And finds new purpose as an aging, angry, dirty, alcoholic clown who must teach the local amateur circus how to put on a big top production.

When viewed through this lens, Little Big Top becomes an interesting, "meta" character study of both one of the greatest modern horror movie characters and of Sid Haig's own career. There's a lot of heart in this film.
