I'm not at all superstitious but I do believe in ghosts, the supernatural, and spirits and everything else. She probably doesn't exist. I've never tried it though hahahaha.

reply

Yes because with all the war and murder and bad economy in the world, there really is a witch who travels from mirror to mirror.

It's all power of suggestion.

reply

IT'S JUST AN URBAN LEGEND!!!
But a nice game to scare people.especially teens.
Adults get bored playing this game.

reply

no. most people, as they grew older, have lost the ability to connect with the spiritual world...it's rather sad.

fortunately, i'm not one of those people.

although, i do agree with the point about power of suggestion.

reply

No it's not true, it's just an urban legend that people continue to say is true. Yet you never hear on the news that someone died in their bathroom/other place with a mirror, do you?

The way it works is that you generally do it during a party or with other people. The idea is similar to what they intended to do in the beginning of the film, which is to get someone to scare them while they're doing that, to make them think it's Mary coming out from the mirror. Obviously it works better if someone gets inside the bathroom first unseen by the person going in to say it.

It works better at night because it's harder to see stuff, and most people naturally have a fear of the dark since who knows what could be lurking out there (which is a real fear that used to help our ancestors from wandering around in the dark where a predator could've ambushed them, and still good to keep people from walking through that dark, unfamiliar alleyway today).
