there are already lots of movies based on bloody mary

for instance: does anyone remember Candyman? It's exactly the same stuff...jezz...get new ideas!!!!!

Candyman was about some guy with a hook in the ghetto of Chicago...pretty different and VERY low budget.

Very Low budget? If you think Candyman has a very low budget I wonder what you consider films like Night of the Living Dead or The Evil Dead, Candyman's budget is higher than many horror films out there. Then again what exactly does a budget have to do with anything when the OP was talking about plot.

Leslie was the one covering people in apple butter.I was just an innocent on-licker

Although Candyman was a reinvisioning of the Bloody Mary myth, the film and its storyline had no other relation to Bloody Mary. As for any other movie based on Bloody Mary... what the hell are you talking about? There was a brief mention of the mirror witch in the first Urban Legends movie and an unrelated title use in the third Urban Legends film. There are about three Japanese films using the title (or variation) of Bloody Mary, but all are mob films or film noir unrelated to horror in any way, so I have to ask, which other Bloody Mary movie, because there hasn't been one... ever. There has never been a movie made about Bloody Mary... ever. How can anybody have an old idea, when the idea has never been made into a movie... ever. Name ONE Bloody Mary movie. You said there were "lots of movies", please, just name one. I hate the ignorant.

'Dead Mary', starring Dominique Swain. There are others, including an episode of 'The X Files', but you said just name one. There's your one.

well....you got me.!
all i wanted to say is that it was a bad idea. a movie based on a single urban legend? i personally don't think it's gonna work...
anyway..thanks for the replies

Actually the movie looks reallly great! check out Spotlight-pictures.com under "cannes premiers" to see the trailer. Definatley not your tipical low budget film. This thing looks HOT! And as far as your statment that a movie that is based on a single urban ledgend has to be bad, is rediculous. A movie is only bad if the director and/or writter is bad. if you ask me, a good writer/director can make any idea work and make it interesting and entertaining. And I believe after seeing the trailer that this one has ALL the potential.

The Director of Photography is responsible for the look of this film.

Any Questions?

Yeah question: A little full of ourselves are we? You realize you take away all authenticity of truth with that kind of statement when it comes from the DP himself talking about his own work. Some positions are key yes, but the film's "look" is no one persons credit to claim, it's the collaborative efforts of all involved that make a film look cheap or great.
And just a little word of advice, I cant think of many directors who would take kindly to their DP taking ALL the credit for the look of the their film. Remember no matter what, the Director is still above everyone, including the DP.

Sorry, i saw the movie, and to be honest,i didn't enjoy it. To predictable and boring. I have already seen lots of low-budgets movies, some i found very good. But not this one.
Well, that's just my opinion.I'm sure there are people who enjoyed it.

When and Where did you see it?

Yeah, in all reality, everbody who worked/sweated on this film has their fingerprint on it. Richard Valentine came up with the story and directed the film (all of it). And to his credit, he did a good job. It was a nice collaboration.

Any questions?

To correct what you heard, the director/writer of the film was NOT fired...

reply

I saw it a couple of months ago, in my bedroom; alone. I like watching movies alone.

reply

How did you see it? I thought it wasn't out yet?

reply

Episode 5 or 6 of the series "Supernatural" is about bloody mary and the mirror game or whatever it is.
