This movie was AWFUL!!

I was looking at the other thread, I was going to just add another post onto that one. I felt however that this film is such crock that it should be distinguished by its own thread.

This movie will not be the horror movie of our generation. It wasn't even the best horror movie I'd seen that day.

I saw the trailer for this and got pretty stoked for it, I thought it looked kinda cool. Well anyways my buddy was able to get a copy, apparently it premeired somewhere a few weeks ago, and he got his hands on it there. I popped it in expecting to be blown away by another indie sleeper.

GARBAGE!!

Now I have seen alot of really bad zombie movies. They were bad for the sake of being bad though, but this is the topper. This film has without a doubt the cheesiest dialogue I have ever seen, and these guys try and play this off seriously. After that you have a stupid plot. This surrounds a few "High School" 30yr olds trying to stop at first run from, then fight back agains a zombie invasion. At least they make themselves up a really terrible excuse for the zombies running. This sounds cool, it really does, but when you see the end product it looks like it was made by the wanna be poetic sad girl on myspace. Worst part is, after its all said and done, we get the set up for the sequel. Please no sequel.

I'm sure this movie will do well, it looks like it's made for 14-18 yr old MTV Dawn of the Dead remake fanbase. If however you can find redeeming qualities in any Italian Zombie movie, this is not for you. This is an insult to the horror genre

One other thing. I understand these guys were doing what they could with no budget. I understand the indie filmaking hardships, im trying to do it myself. That however does not give you a free ride to make complete garbage, label it revolutionary, then bail out by claiming small budget issues.

Theres a movie with a new idea, albeit blair witchy, but done for almost no money.

I haven't seen this movie yet so not gonna give it any review (good or bad)
although from what i have seen, i would agree the dialogue is probably pretty bad, but the trailer looked pretty nice

I checked out the trailer over at zombiediaries.com and was pretty surprised, looked amazing and did have the blair witch style to it.

Just a word of advice for aspiring filmmakers, don't do zombie flicks! lol
It's been done and still being done, geez I'm losing interest in those types of movies. If professionals can't pull off a good zombie flick..how the hell are indi's with an extreme-low budget gonna do it.

I think zombie movies suck because there's not much to it, you don't have to be creative..They walk (well, apparently they run now in some movies) and just eat humans. Where's the twist(s)???

*beep* be creative people like Saw or Cabin Fever. something ORIGINAL
No more remakes and NO more zombie movies! Who's with me?? lol

Okay I'm done talking now
and dude above, zombiediaries kinda seems like George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead plot

A zombie movie is all about subtext.

in night, the represented the racism that was eating america alive.
in dawn of the dead the represented the extreme final result of consumerism.
in day they were cold war fears and thatcher/regan style brutality.
in land...well...land wasnt very good.

zombies are a very versitile for parables.

^Dumb ideas. Sorry.

As far as the movie goes, yes, it's awful. The gore is the only halfway decent thing about it.

^dumb sentence. Sorry

Really? the other 99% of people who have seen this even if they didnt like it say that the gore is fantastic.

reply

Dumb ideas? Are you saying Romero doesn't make movies about politics? Are you daft?

the first attack had some of the worst neck bite FX i've seen in a while. it looked EXACTLY like that really cheapo liquid latex you buy at wal-mart! human skin does not have that much elasticity to it! i tried to leave my brain at the door for this one, but it couldn't be done..... the only scene that got my attention was the pregnant woman attack. it seemed like they dumped all of their creativity into that part. i know it's low budget and all, but man, all that hype about the "leanest, fastest, meanest zombies" was a crock and a lure to get unsuspecting horror fans to pick up this steaming pile. the market is getting over-saturated with booby-trap torture films and terrible zombie movies.
ROMERO SAVE US FROM THIS MINDLESS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen this movie in over a year and a half, but I remember thinking the gore and cinematography were pretty damn good for a no-budget guts-athon.

I couldn't agree more!!

I understand these guys were doing what they could with no budget.
No/low budget is no excuse for terrible writing and completely recycled ideas. Absolutely nothing new and original here.

We've met before, haven't we?
