Kinda pointless

The characters in this movie are all so clean-cut, there's nothing thought-provoking to be found in the entire movie.

David Duchovny is a flawless hero, Halle Berry is suffering, Benicio is the addict with a golden heart, the jogger guy is just a good guy, Benicio's "drug friend" is a good girl, the kids are good...

see what I'm saying? What's the point in watching shallow characters suffer for something so obvious as the death of a loved one? The movie is just being dramatic without having a message or anything. It's slow, boring and the only thing that saves it are the good performances by the leading pair.
