Heroin in Seattle- Unrealistic in movie

Its true that Seattle is the Heroin capital of the US. To all Directors who are looking to make a movie in Seattle they do not have China White. Its Tar heroin therefore the heroin would be brown unlike in this movie the Heroin in the spoon is clearly China White. Please get it right!!!

Yeah...he pretty outted himself on the one!! Does the alley Jerry Sunborn "uses" accurate or was it the wrong kind of garbage on the ground for Seattle? I am sure I saw at least one Starbucks cup..

what a tard. That's like saying you can only get Alaskan thunder**** in Alaska. Almost everything is available anywhere, for the right price and a little looking. And I live in the area so I'm not just guessing..

Not to mention who cares, it wasn't a make or break for the movie for **** sake

dang!...I was gonna' rent this tonight...but if they can't even get the dope right ...I mean HEY!, what's the joint?(err, point)...Besides, unless it's just propaganda (which I can't imagine would be the case considering our current administration), they've pretty much 'won the war-on-drugs'..right???... Nowadays, (according to all the 'newest' TV info-mercials), It's all just a case of parents not hiding their 'unlimited supplies of LEGAL prescription pharmaceuticals' & kids being kids, they're just raiding the medicine cabinets for fun...Of course I don't know about Seattle, but you can barely find a doctor that'll prescribe Heroin (or even that nasal powder stuff...uhh, cocaine), anymore...My point is, for reality's sake; they should have used some type of generic prescription medication...(that is if you can believe the info-mercials, anyway!)...

You couldn't be more WRONG! I worked in drug rehab in the Puget Sound area and in Seattle for 22 years and I can absolutely state that china white was/is readily available in Seattle. It was favored by Seattle musicians (the ones making a LOT of money) who, of course, had the worldwide contacts and the money to get anything they wanted. A sad side effect (of what is already a sad situation) is that many, many Seattle musicians - famous and not so famous - lost their life to it because it was inconsistently cut as it arrived in the Puget Sound area.

Good points from responders...over and above the fact that actors don't 'fix' with anything but simulated prop drugs on camera, 206-3.

Jerry was a lawyer-he had money and started on the H to stop being paranoid-he gets it from someone who sells coke and meth-its not gonna be tar. No one *beep* with tar anymore-no one with a choice anyway. less than 10 percent of heroin in the states is tar, and most of that is found around the mexican border.

Well it's very realistic showing what it feels like to be an heroin addict or even just any kind of addict and that is so much more important than being right on what type of color the thing is. Benicio del Toro did such an outstanding job on this movie. I've always been a fan but now he's like a god to me. Never , ever under any circumstances (not even when he was suffering in so much pain) did he go over the top and overact like it would have been so easy to do and you do see most actors fail and do.
