No. Those who seek to end wars are the World's true heroes. Those who start the wars, and those who unquestioningly fight wars, are the true cowardly lowlifes.

The only way to end a war is to defeat the enemy. You hippie cowards are not heroes. You would have us bury our heads in the sand and let evil people walk all over us. Peace will only come through victory.

Considering that over 3 million Vietnamese died as a result of the war, the majority of them killed by Americans, the majority of those killed being South VIetnamese civilians -- the people we were supposedly defending, right? -- I wonder what sort of "victory" you wanted? The complete eradication of a people that had done nothing to America, that were not any threat to America, that could not possibly do any harm to America?

They weren't our enemy. We were their enemy. And they defeated us. And a good thing, too.

The only coward was anyone who could murder innocent women and children.

Anyone who realizes that they are doing something wrong and makes changes to correct their wrongful behaviour is not cowardly. Especially when they have to stand up to their boss...and their COUNTRY. It takes a big pair to do something like that. Less heroic are people who do something just because they are told to without thinking it through and deciding for themselves whether they should or not. To not form an opinion and/or not share the details of why they feel as they do is not heroic.

This film is currently streaming on Netflix. Never heard of it before last week, but these comments definitely got me more interested in it.
