I was just curious how Thomas Jane started the 1970 Ford Mustang fastback that had been sitting at the rest stop for the past 30 years. For crying out loud, the thing was covered in cobwebs! In my experience, car batteries can go dead in a matter of a few months.
What gives?
The whole movie isn't meant to be realistic. The gas in his own car lasted forever. It was all exagerated. And pretty obviously at that.
sharethey didn't get that far in his own car for the fuel to run out. and they had a full tank when they left.
how he started the other car -- the realer option seems that since the same thing had happened to other guys, one of those cars there might have been a more recent one so it ignited.
and you don't know that he went into the cobweb car, there were others there. even if it was, since the spiders had already installed themselves in the vicinity, the car left there would probably be filled with cobwebs quicker than usual.
