Why is this only a 5.2?

On IMDB that is a pretty bad rating and I thought this movie was actually pretty solid. Not for everyone, but a respectable debut for Jane. For only two main characters in a car together I really thought he pulled it off and the acting was supurb. I'm really looking forward to what else he can do.

One thing you will learn about IMDB, is that most of the people who vote for movies hate the movie. So you will never have a good rating for a good movie. That's how IMDB works.

Oh no you definitely have a point there...but I was kinda hoping for more of a discussion from people who didn't like it.

I gave it a 7. I love the sultry desert atmosphere at dead of night and the sweltering cinematography. Plus there's the Hitcockesque element of being drawn into a crime unwittingly. And of course Lauren German is absolutely gorgeous!

My thoughts exactly. I thought this was a very interesting movie. The first 10 minutes were strange and nearly turned me off. But once the movie got going, it was like a 90-minute Twilight Zone episode. Hats off to Jane.

I think the rating is alright. Can't say it deserves more than a 5. The idea behind the movie was good but the first half of the movie was terrible and that's what pulled the rating down for me.

First of all, the repeated close up shots and in your face cam technique was getting on my nerves. At times I also got the feeling they weren't actually driving but were in a studio simulating a drive because of the camera work.

For a movie with just two persons in a car, they could have better utilized the first forty five minutes on character development to help us know the characters better but it turns out the characters themselves didn't know anything about each other. The guy was helping his wife masturbate for a good 10 mins before we got to the accident part. Total waste of time and poor film making that if you ask me.

Then the part where bloodyface was trying to strangle the husband and choke him to death and wife was standing there doing nothing. Wife saw everything and yet blamed her husband afterwards for the trouble as if he had any choice other than to kill bloodyface.

Just as I said, the idea behind the movie was good but poor execution and poor acting in parts.

Well jee I know lots of movies use simulation. But it was a little too obvious in this one wasn't it? The ability to hide the effects of simulated action and make it appear real to the viewers is what separates a good from a bad movie.

Why is this so much as 5.2? *beep* this was so awfully boring and cheap that I couldn't watch more than half a hour. NOTHING happened in the first half hour. Some poor no-name actors talking crap which no-one could have cared less. That's not very entertaining at all. Everything was so cheap. The whole car driving scene was filmed in a studio and it really showed. CGI cars and butterflies...OMG. How could someone produce so amateurish crap in 2009?!?!?!?

Fully disagree. I enjoyed it. 7/10
