No, the problem is that it's DVD quality so it is pixel-boxed on the Blu-Ray. It shows up as letterboxed 4x3 and not anamorphic.
I am also disappointed by this, but I'm assuming that the documentary wasn't shot in HD and that's why it's presented in 480p.
There must be some pricey conversion process to make it anamorphic? I was very surprised/disappointed by this too. I watch with the zoom on to fill me screen without losing any image, but the resolution issues are more apparent when one does this.
