which actor is Adam and which one is Jean (from the book)?

ok, i finished the book, so i think that vincent kartheiser's character (sebastian in the movie) is Jean Hayman in the book. but i haven't seen the movie short. it would mean that Kartheiser is "obviously" gay and that the other one has a fiancee.
