I understood that she was just a big fan of Zakuro, but at the same time... she did seem a little too excited to meet her hehe.
I've never actually seen Mew Mew Power and I've not seen enough of the original anime to see how it's been adapted, but in the manga... She just goes a little over the top.
She just loves her as her idol.

In Japanese culture compared to the West, heterosexual women can have an ultra-intense admiration or even crush on someone of the same sex without having any romantic or sexual feelings for them, and it's never considered unnatural.
