American and European versions

So, what are the major differences between the US and European versions of this?

Of course, firstly the narration is different (both have different narrators), but are the order of scenes completely different? In the European version, we see Nigel travel to each sea from the least to the most dangerous (Ordivician-Cretaceous). I have the book of "Chased by Sea Monsters" (the US version) however, and it is in order of time (Ordivician-Pliocene), it is also commented in one of the reviews on here, that it goes from sea scorpions to megalodons. In "Chased by Sea Monsters", does it end in the Pliocene with Megalodon? Or does it end in the Cretaceous like in the European version?

Order in "Sea Monsters: A Walking with Dinosaurs trilogy"
Ordivician - Triasic - Devonian - Eocene - Pliocene - Jurassic - Cretaceous

Order in book of "Chased by Sea Monsters"
Ordivician - Devonian - Triasic - Jurassic - Cretaceous - Eocene - Pliocene

Firstly, are you talking about the 3 half-hour episodes included in the "Chased by Dinosaurs" dvd...because this is the one i have....

i don't know if a separate dvd exists.....it's listed on amazon.com but it's only available from marketplace sellers (only 3) and the site doesn't seem to give a proper dvd cover....in other words...it's all very vague and unpopular compared to the "Chased by Dinosaurs" dvd which has a lot of reviews....

I'm not aware there's a European version...my copy is a region 1 import....it's the only copy available at amazon.co.uk

Yes, I am talking about the ones included in "chased by dinosaurs", but there was also a seperate dvd released by discovery channel entitled "chased by sea monsters".

The UK version to be more precise, simply has the title- "A Walking with Dinosaurs trilogy: Sea Monsters" for a three-part series (first broadcaston British Broadcasting Corporation in 2003), or all episodes rolled into one entitled- "A Walking with Dinosaurs special: Sea Monsters" (Only broadcast on BBC in 2006), which was exactly the same just as one 90-minute documentary.

The UK version of the trilogy was only released on DVD in Holland beleive it or not.

So in the version included in "chased by dinosaurs", does it go from the Ordivician to the Cretaceous or from the Ordivician to the Pliocene, like in the book? I'm just quite curious.

It starts with the Ordivician, which they considered the least dangerous, and ends with the Cretaceous, the most dangerous......

I new about Chased by Seamonsters because wikipedia has a list of all the spin-offs, and i ended up buying Chased by Dinosaurs because it was obviously a cheaper buy...

The only differences I know of are the narrator (naturally) and that some scenes are missing from the USA version. I only cought the last part and it hasn't shown the smell-suit. They've left out the Xiphactinus fish and maybe some unnecessary shots. And the end credits are shown in front of a black blackground instead of the Tylosaurus closing in on the ship (like with other Walking with... episodes).
